Irene Kelleher

Irene is an Irish born actress and trained in Shakespeare and Company in Lenox, Massachusetts and Drama and Theatre Studies, UCC. She toured Ireland and UK with her first play Mary and Me, which is published by Oberon and was widely critically acclaimed, including a Bobby Award Nomination. Film and TV work includes a role in Game of Thrones (Season 5) Reign (CBS) and leading roles in two Irish Feature Films Beyond the Woods and Dead Dogs. She has toured to Off Broadway (Cherry Lane) in the title role of Ian Wild’s one-woman show, Mrs Shakespeare, which was awarded the Argus Angel Award. Irene was awarded the Best Actress Award for her performance of Aoibhe in the film The Trouble with Aoibhe at the BlackBird Film Festival in NYC and was nominated for a S.O.F.I.E Award. Her performance as Maria in Stars in the Morning Sky in the Belgrade Theatre, directed by Hamish Glen, was her UK debut. Irene performed the role of the Governess in The Turn of the Screw in Smock Alley and The Everyman Theatre in 2015 and the role of ‘Orlaith’ in the Irish Premiere of Ailis Ni Rian’s play Desolate Heaven. Irene played the part of Kitty Kiernan in Pat Talbot’s Production of A Great Arrangement which had a nationwide tour- venues included The Gaiety, The MAC Belfast, The Everyman, The Lime-Tree Theatre and Backstage Theatre.
