Laoisa has written three full length critically acclaimed plays that have been performed in the USA including Off Broadway in New York, Canada and across Ireland. As a film director and writer her debut I DIDN’T…I WASN’T….I AMN’T starred Aiden Gillen and has been selected for sixteen worldwide festivals and has collected three awards including Best Romance Film at The Edinburgh International Film Festival. Her second film The Lucky Man premiered at Galway Film Festival and she was described as “an exceptionally gifted storyteller and actor“ by Film Ireland. She also co-directed & adapted James Joyce Ulysses (1922 version) into a 90-minute experimental film called The Ulysses Project in celebration of Bloomsday. It was shot entirely in lockdown and featured over 75 international actors including John Turturro, Aidan Gillen, Patrick Bergin, Ian McElhinney. It screened online during lockdown for a limited time with all proceeds going to a soup kitchen & shelter for homeless pregnant women in Brooklyn called Chips.
